KIRBY AND LIEFOOGHE 12TH AT LIME ROCK

Co-drivers Alex Kirby and Greg Liefooghe overcame the challenging condition and brought the car home 12th, despite a mis-cue on the pit stop. WEIDNER JOINS COMPASS360 FOR MUSTANG CHALLENGE RUN

 

(Lime Rock, CT) -- Compass360 Racing (C360R) today announced the addition of a Mustang Challenge effort to its stable, which will run alongside the team's championship-winning Grand-Am Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge program. Marv Weidner, who drove one of the team's Honda Civic Si's at Barber Motorsports Park earlier this year, has been signed to run most of the remainder of the Mustang Challenge season, including races at Lime Rock Park, Watkins Glen, Mid-Ohio and New Jersey Motorsports Park.

DURABOND / C360R WIN CCTCC SEASON OPENER AT MOSPORT

(Bowmanville, ON)—Durabond/Compass360 Racing started the Castrol Canadian Touring Car Championship season off in fine form, winning both races in the first event of the season at Mosport International Raceway.

The team, which fields three Honda Civic Si’s in Touring class, started well, with Anthony Rapone qualifying the #72 car on pole and team-mate Karl Thomson in second in #71. Andrew Danyliw in the #73 Honda qualified eighth. In Saturday’s race, Rapone managed traffic well and pulled a gap on the battle for second, which included Thomson, the Mini of P.J. Groenke and the Civic of Tom Kwok. This trio changed positions numerous times during the race, providing a thrilling spectacle for the fans, with Thomson finally edging our Groenke for the runner-up spot.

C360R MITSUBISHI EVO IMPRESSES AT MOSPORT

Compass360’s Mitsubishi Evolution X made its Mosport debut at a 6th Gear lapping day on Wednesday, and impressed with its speed and reliability. “This really was the first run of the car in race trim, and I’m pleased with how well the first outing went,” enthused Technical Director Ray Lee. “We’ve got more work to do, of course, and some more testing over the coming days, but I’m encouraged by today’s sessions.”

DURABOND AND COMPASS360 TEAM UP TO WIN IN CANADIAN TOURING CAR

Championship-winning Teams Combine Forces with Honda in Touring Class

(Toronto, Canada)—Compass360 Racing and Durabond Racing today announced a combined effort that will field three Honda Civic Si’s in the 2010 Castrol Canadian Touring Car Championship season. Building on strong results from both teams over the past few years, the Durabond/Compass360 Racing effort promises to be one of the championship contenders in the series’ Touring-class.

“I’ve wanted to come back and have a program in CCTCC for a while now,” explained Compass360’s Karl Thomson, who was Rookie of the Year in the series’ inaugural 2003 season. “We’ve been really successful since moving into Grand-Am’s Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge six years ago, winning championships for Honda in 2007 and 2009. I’m really looking forward to getting back to our roots and enjoying some of the close racing the Canadian series offers.”
